Our Leadership

The Pacific Southwest Center for Public Health Emergencies (PSCPHE) serves U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Region 9, supporting preparedness and response efforts across California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaiʻi, and the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands. The Center’s leadership is based within the region, ensuring strong alignment with local contexts, regional priorities, and the diverse public health systems.

PSCPHE is guided by an experienced leadership team and a regional Steering Committee composed of institutional partners and state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) public health leaders. Together, they provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and practice-based insight to strengthen coordination, promote equitable access to resources, and advance evidence-based public health emergency preparedness and response across Region 9.
